Jeremy Pelt is one of the preeminent trumpeters in jazz, voted rising star five years in a row by Downbeat Magazine. Both traditionalist and modernist, he has performed all over the globe, and recorded ten albums under his name. Pelt’s CV includes working with Cedar Walton, Louis Hayes, Ravi Coltrane, Frank Foster, Jimmy Heath, Nancy Wilson, and The Skatalites. He was also the subject of a recent New York Times piece about his four volume series of written portraits entitled “Griot: Examining the lives of Jazz’s great storytellers.” Pelt has been a long time mentor to younger up and coming musicians, and will be joined by his quintet of some of the music’s most exciting young players.
